How To Create A Free Website With Ease
You can create a free website with some hosting services on the Internet. I list a few for you here just to show what's available. Keep in mind that this is not all of them -- new hosting services pop up all the time. Check out the features of each one before sign up. Look at the terms and certainly read the reviews on the ones that you are considering -- be sure to 'google-it'. There's a drawback when you create a free website with most of these hosting services... ... they limit what you can do in one or more ways. I do not recommend the free website services for any serious website builder; but if you want to get up and running quickly and cheaply, this is an option. Choose wisely and take your time if you feel that you must take this route.
- Wix
Create a free Flash website with Wix.com. Have fun using this free Flash web design builder. Customize free Flash templates or make your own website. Consider that Flash adds pizazz to your site but not all of your visitors will have powerful enough machines to fully enjoy the benefits -- they just may stop visiting to your website because they experience slowness. Also, they place their own ads on your Wix web pages unless you upgrade to the Premium version. wix.com

- Google Sites
Google is also in the free web page hosting business like other major players. They make things easy like they do their search engine -- the simplier the better.
Google's emphasis with Google Sites is to connecting people in groups as smoothly as possible. You can watch the introductory Google Sites video tutorial if you want to create a free website using their service. Google Sites lets you to perform text editing, make attachments and insert comments. It's great for sharing a website with family, friends and work colleagues. You can let others edit your website. Here too you can upgrade to the premium version for more features. They charge a monthly fee for the upgrade. sites.google.com

- Windows Home Spaces Live
Microsoft's Windows Home Spaces Live offers a space for MSN or Microsoft Live users to store photos, lists, and blog entries. It is very limited in its features but is simple to use. In essence, it is not really hosting any kind of website, but it does give you a web presence if you want a very simple one. home.spaces.live.com

- Yahoo! GeoCites
GeoCities began as its own website, but in 1998 it was bought by the Internet search company, Yahoo!. Fast forward to today and you need to know that being able to create a free website here is a thing of the past -- as of October 26th, 2009 this service is no longer available. Hmmmmmm.
Yahoo! recommends that folks sign up for their award-winning Web Hosting service. It works a lot like GeoCities and it includes features like a personalized domain name, matching email, other new site building tools, unlimited disk space and bandwidth, etc, etc.. -- your choice. Keep in mind that Yahoo! is in the process of revamping a lot of their products; for instance they are teaming up with Live to challenge the #1 search engine company, Google. geocities.yahoo.com
